HABi-Wakaura Room/Hanare-Hinoki

-Time Slip to the Heian Period- Junior Suite with Shogun-Beds and Traditional Craftsman Furnishings

Facility introduction

= Pre-opening on June 9, 2025 =
Located in a Japanese Heritage district, on the private mountain of Wakaura, granny flat.
This distinctive hideaway facility, which occupies an area of about 700 square meters, takes advantage of the mountain's elevation variations.
This accommodation is in a unique location, as there aren't many properties that have a safe view of the ocean within walking distance of the beach.
Situated around four stories up on a little hill, the room provides an extensive view of the garden and the surrounding Wakaura Bay. You are taken to a different world by the soothing natural ambiance created by the sound of wind chimes, birdsong, and a little sea breeze.

This structure serves as a guest house (one-story residence) designed to host visitors, thus it is elegantly adorned with premium wood, cypress. It is illuminated by classic lanterns, and drapes are placed beneath the transoms. There is a custom-designed cypress "lord's bed=Shogun bed" (semi-double), premium cotton bedding (organic or satin), and soft Imabari towels, blending Japan's esteemed, traditional "Japanese craftsmanship" with a warm feeling of nostalgia, as if you've always belonged here, crafting an environment that seeks the "comfort" of the Reiwa period.

The kitchen, which is essential for medium- to long-term stays and fishing enthusiasts, is equipped with an IH stove (two burners), carefully selected tableware and cooking utensils, wine glasses, sake cups, and other glassware.

*Please bring your own knife for cutting fish.

The space can easily fit 2 to 3 individuals, but it can host up to 7 individuals (5 adults and 2 infants who don’t need additional futons).
Extra bedding for three or more individuals can be provided in the style of single-sized Japanese futons.

Fully automatic toilet available Bathroom is located in a separate structure.

Free WIFI and large TV available

Outdoor Terrace
Garden Terrace (Seaview Side South)
Tables and chairs for outdoor use are arranged on the seaview side, providing a view of Wakaura Bay. Savor breakfast accompanied by the sound of birds chirping in the morning, have afternoon tea, and enjoy fireworks from the terrace illuminated by lanterns in the evening. (Completion expected by mid-August 2025, with a slight delay.)

Garden Terrace (north side of vegetable garden)
Outdoor tables and chairs are provided, creating a space where you can work on your PC (remote work) or enjoy tea time on both terraces. (Scheduled for completion this fall)

There is also a mountaintop where you can watch fireworks, but it is still a bit messy. We aim to complete it in 2026.

It is also possible to rent the entire property, including other rooms.

The cutoff time for check-in is 7:00 p.m. due to the distinct layout of the different areas on the premises, and we want to take the time to clarify the amenities and facilities to our guests so they can fully appreciate their experience. The garden terrace and baths are situated outside the rooms, the front desk is in a distinct wing, and multiple pathways exist throughout the grounds, necessitating that guests navigate the area.
We appreciate your cooperation in checking in during daylight hours.

The area is home to restaurants that only serve natural fish, which are very popular with locals, as well as multiple beaches, Tenmangu Shrine, the god of learning, Kishu Toshogu Shrine, Kimiidera Temple built in the 700s, a Wakaura Bay cruise on a fishing boat for a realistic experience, a mini hiking course from nearby Wakako Park to the observation deck on Mt. Takatsushi, Noh performances, art, kamaboko made from local fish, dried fish (half-dried), popular sweets shops, and more. The surrounding area is also home to many historical buildings and local specialty shops.

There are no convenience stores or supermarkets within walking distance, so it would be best to stock up before checking in.

It is also possible to rent the entire property, including other rooms.

If you wish to rent the entire premises, we can customize the plan to suit your needs. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
