Private Villa on the Hills of Wakaura – Located within the Japan Heritage Area

Set on a spacious 700㎡ property, this unique hideaway takes advantage of Wakaura’s natural elevation. Although the sea is within walking distance, only a few places in the area offer a safe and unobstructed ocean view—this villa is one of them.
Situated on a small hill at the height of a 4‑story building, the villa overlooks a serene garden and Wakaura Bay. The sound of wind chimes, birdsong, and the gentle sea breeze create a refreshing and peaceful atmosphere throughout your stay.

■ About the Villa
Originally built as a guest residence to welcome visitors, this single‑story villa features generous use of premium Japanese cypress (hinoki).

A terrace overlooking Wakaura Bay, furnished with outdoor tables and chairs.
Enjoy breakfast with birdsong, a relaxing afternoon tea, or nighttime lantern-lit moments with fireworks viewing.

■Garden Terrace (North Side / Vegetable Garden)
Features a vegetable garden and a mini golf practice area (scheduled for completion in autumn 2026).

■The hilltop area is still being developed, but fireworks can be viewed from there as well.
Full completion is planned for 2027.

Notice

The cutoff time for check-in is 7:00 p.m. due to the distinct layout of the different areas on the premises, and we want to take the time to clarify the amenities and facilities to our guests so they can fully appreciate their experience. The garden terrace and baths are situated outside the rooms, the front desk is in a distinct wing, and multiple pathways exist throughout the grounds, necessitating that guests navigate the area.
We appreciate your cooperation in checking in during daylight hours.

The area is home to restaurants that only serve natural fish, which are very popular with locals, as well as multiple beaches, Tenmangu Shrine, the god of learning, Kishu Toshogu Shrine, Kimiidera Temple built in the 700s, a Wakaura Bay cruise on a fishing boat for a realistic experience, a mini hiking course from nearby Wakako Park to the observation deck on Mt. Takatsushi, Noh performances, art, kamaboko made from local fish, dried fish (half-dried), popular sweets shops, and more. The surrounding area is also home to many historical buildings and local specialty shops.

There are no convenience stores or supermarkets within walking distance, so it would be best to stock up before checking in.

It is also possible to rent the entire property, including other rooms.

There are three buildings with four guest rooms on the premises.

As entrance and the garden terrace are currently under construction, we are offering discounted rates during the construction period.
(There will be no construction noise during your stay.)

Access

Approximately 20 minutes from Wakayama City Station on the Nankai Railway Nankai Line,by Wakayama bus, from Wakauraguchi stop 6mins on foot.
Approximately 25 minutes from Wakayama Station on the JR Hanwa Line, by Wakayama bus, from Wakauraguchi stop 6mins on foot.

Buses run approximately every 10 minutes from the nearby bus stop, providing easy access to major locations.

There is a limousine bus from Kansai Airport to the nearest bus stop (limited number of buses after COVID-19).
